Unlearn your ‘MBA’

So yesterday was officially my last day at college. The director of our institute had some kind words for us after a very very long time. He wished us good luck with our careers and ended up giving us a few pointers to follow for being successful in life. Please feel free to share these with your friends if you find them useful.

1) No immediate result can be achieved until you start from ground zero.

2) A good job always gets noticed, you cant hide it for too long.

3) No text book can teach you ‘common sense’.

4) The first job in your career should never have a fancy designation.

5) Growth is not limited by designation, but by the amount of learning that you have carried.

6) Never get mobbed down by the monotony of your job:

To avoid monotony follow these three steps:

a) Always have the habit of reading.
b) Have a proactive ability to demand work at office.
c) Keep an eye on every avenue which can help you in the industry you work for. It can be seminars, exhibitions etc.

7) In an organization you have no right to spend money unless you earn money for them.

8) What people speak behind your back matters.

9) Simplicity is the most complicated thing in the world.

10) It takes just 5 years to learn to speak, but 25 years to learn not to speak.

11) Identify the difference between Small love and Big love. Small love can be dangerous.

12) Stop being a parasite.

13) Beware of people who speak good about you.

14) Possess risk taking ability. Learn to take small risks in life. Life is all about taking risks.

15) ‘The shortest distance between two points is a straight line’, which means there are no shortcuts in life.
